Slapping a chicken to cook it is one of my favorite ways to cook a chicken. It makes the skin softer and makes the bird more alive. You can use the laughed right along with the drumstick. You just slap the stick straight across the middle of the middle drumstick, and it will stick.
This is one way that I have seen many people cook a chicken in the oven. In fact, many people do not even bother to get the drumstick out. Instead, they let the chicken cook on its own while using the a fork to poke at it from time to time. This is a slow way to cook a chicken, but it works in most cases.
Another method is to use the knife to poke around the chicken. The key is to make sure you keep the knife touching the meat. If you start to move it around, you may end up getting a raw patch of meat in your face. It is very difficult to eat, so I would only recommend this method for a very small amount of chicken.
Of course, if you are really impatient, you can always cook the bird in the frying pan. Just cook it in a pan on medium heat until it is almost completely cooked. Take the bird out when it is almost done, and let it rest on a wire rack to finish cooking. This is a faster way to cook the meat, but it does not offer as much taste to it.
One way that I have found to cook a chicken to my surprise is by using a pressure cooker. They make a lot of great dishes, and pressure cooking is one of the techniques that they use. By cooking the bird in the cooker, you can avoid cooking all the way through and just get the pressure done so that you can put the lid on and let it sit for a few hours.
When you cook a chicken in a pressure cooker, it is important to remember that you need to keep the lid on tight. Chicken should take about three hours to cook, so if you try to cook it faster than that, it can cause the pressure to build up and cause the cookers to overheat. This can cause the chicken to become raw and mushy. Once you remove the chicken from the cooker, let it rest on a wire rack to cool before removing it from the pot. You can prepare it the next day, or the day after if you like.
Slapping a chicken to cook it to my surprise is something that I look forward to with some frequency. Sometimes, I like to throw a little bit of rice or some potatoes into the pot along with the chicken, and this really helps to make it sing. Sometimes, I like to add some balsamic vinegar for that added flavor. However, I never like to add salt to my chicken or season it for me. If you are going to do these things, be sure to make sure that you wash the chicken well first, so there is no lingering seasoning.
I have also found that cooking the chicken on a hot grill makes it much more tender. This works especially well if you let the marinade soak in for at least four hours before you start cooking it. If you do not have a grill, you can also use a foil pan to cook it in for about six minutes, which works well too. Just be sure that you are using a good quality marinade for your purposes.
