As we all know, there are people who stand out from the crowd. These individuals are known to be taller than others.
One of these amazing individuals is Sultan Kosen. This man is the world’s tallest person and holds the Guinness World Record for it!
Robert Wadlow
Robert Wadlow was born on February 22, 1918, in Alton, Illinois, and is famous for being the tallest person in the world. He was born to Harold Franklin and Addie May (Johnson) Wadlow and grew up to be an incredible 8 feet 11.1 inches tall.
He was diagnosed with hyperplasia of the pituitary gland, a condition that caused him to rapidly grow due to abnormal levels of human growth hormone. Although there is now a cure for this condition, it was not available at the time of his birth.
His parents tried to make his life as normal as possible. They gave him a special desk at elementary school, and when he was in high school, they made him a chair that was large enough to accommodate his legs.
However, as his height continued to increase, he developed a number of medical problems that aggravated his condition. He also had a difficult time walking and had very little feeling in his legs and feet.
Nevertheless, he kept trying to live as much of a normal life as possible. He attended Alton High School and enrolled at Shurtleff College with the intention of studying law.
He toured with the Ringling Brothers Circus, appearing in Madison Square Garden and Boston Garden in the center ring (never in the sideshow). He dressed up in his everyday clothes and refused to wear a top hat or tails.
Despite his remarkable height, Robert was a gentle giant who enjoyed the company of friends and family members. He also took pride in his quiet manner and was a good sportsman.
Sultan Kosen
Sultan Kosen is the world’s tallest man and holds the Guinness World Record for being 8ft 3in. He was born on December 10 1982 and didn’t start his incredible growth spurt until he was 10.
Sultan’s unique height is caused by a condition known as “pituitary gigantism”. This happens when the pituitary gland is damaged, releasing an excess of growth hormone. This causes the body to grow rapidly, producing large hands, thick bones and painful joints.
When he was young, Sultan tried to attend school but could never fit in the chairs and desks. He also used to have a hard time finding shoes that fit.
As a result, Sultan became a farmer to support his family and lived in a small house that had been built for him. Despite his extreme height, he yearns for the things that most people want: a family and a wife.
He married a 5ft 9in Syrian woman ten years his junior in 2021 but they split up because of the language barrier. He then decided to try Russian women, but he couldn’t find anyone suitable.
His remarkable height has landed him brand partnership deals and opportunities to travel the world, but he says that he’s still searching for the love of his life.
When asked what he wants more than anything else, he said that “love” is what’s most important in his life. He believes that if he finds the love of his life, he will live a happy and fulfilling life and be able to do all the things that he wants.
Sultan was lucky enough to meet the shortest person in the world a few years ago, Chandra Bahadur Dangi. It was a nerve-wracking experience for him, but he said that the encounter stuck with him forever.
Pornchai Saosri
Pornchai Saosri, who was known as ‘Oaf’ by his family, was the tallest man in the world when he died at the age of 26. His height was measured at 8 feet 8 inches (269 centimeters).
He had a number of illnesses due to his unusual growth rate, and he had been hospitalised for a number of days before he died. He was bedridden and was being cared for by his father Saran, 60, and his mother Mrs Wern who is 56 years old.
His family had raised funds after his illness was reported in the media and people across Thailand had sent donations. The family said they had about 50,000 baht left in their bank account which they were planning to use for Pornchai’s funeral.
The man reportedly has pituitary gigantism and has been suffering from a number of illnesses. He is also believed to have suffered from an autonomic neuropathy in his legs.
As a result, he has difficulties standing and walking, but is still able to do some simple tasks such as walking in a straight line. He was measured earlier this month at his local district office when he needed to renew his ID card and was found to be 257 centimeters or 8 feet, 5 inches tall.
This was a big surprise to the family. They thought he would be around 6 foot 3 inches and not 8 foot 10 inches like the official measurements.
The family is devastated by this news and is seeking help from officials to get him proper medical treatment in Bangkok. The government permanent secretary, Dr Tossaporn Serirak, said Pornchai could be suffering from malfunctioned growth hormones and he will ensure he gets the best medical attention.
Mehrzad Amiri
One of the tallest people on earth is Iranian musician and film buff Mehrzad Amiri. He has an impressive collection of trophies and awards to his name, including the best tallest tallyboard in the world. Not only is he an accomplished musician, but he’s also a proud father of three and an avid collector of trinkets. That’s not to mention his philanthropy, donating over one million dollars worth of music memorabilia to charitable causes in the country he calls home. Amiri has certainly made his mark in the music industry and he continues to blaze the trails in the genres of pop, rock and roll, and instrumental music.
Takioullah
The world’s tallest person is a man called Takioullah who is from Morocco. He is eight feet tall and has the largest feet on the planet.
His height is caused by a condition known as pituitary gigantism, which occurs when the brain releases excess growth hormone. This is the most common cause of extreme height.
Takioullah was born in Guelmim, Morocco. At age 18, his doctor asked him to get a blood test for his unusual size.
He was diagnosed with acromegaly, which is a disorder that causes continued physical growth beyond the normal limits of human development. The doctor brought him to France for treatment, where his growth hormones were brought back to normal.
Since then, he has maintained his remarkable height and continues to grow. He now stands at a height of 2.46 metres (8 ft 1 in).
According to the Guinness Book of Records, Takioullah is the second tallest living person in the world behind Sultan Kosen of Turkey. He also holds the Guinness record for having the largest feet of anyone in history.
He is a very successful person and earns quite a lot of money from his career. His net worth is estimated at $14 million dollars.
There are several factors that affect a person’s height including genetics, nutrition, and medical issues. Some people may be tall due to their genes, while others are shorter because of their lifestyles and habits.
This summer, a woman with the world’s smallest feet and the man with the world’s biggest feet are teaming up to set a new record. Jyoti Amge and Brahim Takioullah are calling on 50,000 participants to take part in a “leggy” challenge that’s one of the biggest mass-participation records ever attempted.
